Data Centres & Telecom — MHM Engineering

Server halls and telecom exchanges need cooling that is available 99.99% of the time, holds 18–27 °C at the rack inlet and does not waste power moving air. MHM designs chilled-water and DX precision cooling with N+1 or 2N redundancy, hot-aisle containment, economisers for the cooler months and BMS/DCIM integration.

We also supply the generators, LT panels and UPS-room cooling that keep a site up through a grid failure, and maintain them under contracts with guaranteed response.

What the sector needs

The engineering problems in data centres & telecom

Concurrent maintainability

N+1 chillers, dual pipe risers and CRAH units so any component can be serviced with the hall live.

PUE and part-load

High chilled-water temperatures, VFD everything and free-cooling in December–February.

Airflow management

Hot-aisle containment, raised-floor or in-row units and rack-inlet sensors on the BMS.

Power continuity

Generator sets, ATS and panel design that restart cooling within seconds of an outage.

What MHM delivers

How we solve them

  1. 1

    Precision cooling

Chilled-water CRAH or DX CRAC units in N+1/2N with containment.

  2. 2

    Central plant

Air-cooled chillers with buffer tanks for ride-through and economiser coils.

  3. 3

    Power

Generators, LT panels, ATS and UPS-room cooling.

  4. 4

    Monitoring & AMC

BMS/DCIM integration and Comprehensive AMC with 8-hour response.

Questions

Common questions from data centres & telecom plants

Below about 50 kW IT load, DX precision units with N+1 are simpler and cheaper. Above that, chilled water with buffer tanks gives better efficiency and ride-through.

Yes — BACnet/IP or Modbus TCP points for every chiller, CRAH, generator and panel are provided with the point list.
